Healthy Atmosphere

We promote the benefits of sport and physical exercise

Our aim is for our pupils to see sports as an essential element for developing social values, both individually and as part of a team. We do this through physical education lessons taught by specialist teachers, as well as through co-curricular activities.

We teach healthy eating habits and serve meals prepared onsite

All meals offered to our pupils throughout the school day are well-balanced and rich in fruits and vegetables, with an extensive range of ingredients.

Healthy Eating

All menus served to our pupils in our dining rooms are prepared in our onsite kitchen.

All menus are reviewed and approved by the school doctor and the head of the dining room and kitchen who also supervises the entire process, from purchasing onwards, to ensure that all meals served are well-balanced and healthy and to the pupils’ liking. A team of professionals ensure that each student eats correctly. The school also has a smaller kitchen which is fully equipped to prepare special menus for students with food allergies or intolerances.

Ages 1 to 2

The littlest members of school have their own dining room which is located next to their classrooms. They follow a menu adapted to their needs and are supervised at all times.

A dining area exclusive to them allows for a smooth and happy integration into the new school environment. Given that most of them are still learning how to eat solids, many dishes will be puréed and, according to paediatric advice, we alternate vegetables, meat, eggs, fish and fruit, so that their diet is always varied and healthy. Little by little, solid foods are introduced into their diet to develop their maturity and independence.

From age 3 onwards

Nursery and Reception pupils have their own dining room next to the main one and are supervised by a team of monitors who look after them constantly.

We are aware that lunchtime is a great opportunity to promote children's social skills as they learn to interact with one another, work together, manage conflicts, etc. Therefore, we encourage a relaxed and structured environment. At this stage, the main meals are always accompanied by salad or vegetables, and fresh, peeled fruit is offered daily so that children get used to including fresh and seasonal products in their diet.

We Look after Ourselves

Medical Care

The school has an onsite clinic, staffed by a school nurse and a nursing assistant, where all pupil and staff medical needs are seen to. Throughout the school day, first aid is provided in case of an accident, as well as any medical attention required in case of illness. Necessary treatment is provided in accordance with authorisation by families.

We are a cardioprotective school

Semi-automatic defibrillators are available and we provide training for staff to be able to use them in an emergency.

We facilitate medical consultations

Once per week, a specialist in family medicine comes to the clinic and is available for consultations by students and staff.

We are committed to student health

We supervise special diets, keep a registry of all allergies and administer any required medicines for our students.

We strive to establish a strong bond with our entire community so that the values and messages we aim to instil can be reinforced at home. We love to see our families at the events we organise throughout the school year: concerts, activity afternoons, talks, and more.

Families at the Heart of Education -
A Shared Project

Inclusion and Multiculturalism

The school has pupils of more than forty-five different nationalities who come together every day and work together thanks to initiatives that help create a seamless educational community.

Our One School, One Community ethos aims to ensure that newly arrived students and families quickly feel like part of the Caxton community. Additionally, from an early age pupils work on projects in lessons that highlight cultural diversity in all its forms and emphasise values such as respect and empathy.

Safe School Transport

We offer a school transport service for all of our students with more than 20 routes that cover the main residential areas of Valencia and Castellón.
